Target version:-

The problem arise when the user tries to compile BornAgain and then runs 'make check' command. If BornAgain was already installed on the system (i.e. appears in LD_LIBRARY_PATH and PYTHONPATH), then "make check" step fails. We have this issue explained in troubleshooting section, but this is not enough. There were few reports on that already.

We can retrieve environment variable and warn the user.

  • Request from Sebastian
* Running the tests after build before install yields failues since a
previous BornAgain version is used to run them.

Not sure about this one:

* I would find a feature useful that removes old versions from my system

Never saw in make; make install possibility to uninstall previous one.
Package manager should be used for that.
